How to Read a Weight-Loss Supplement Label

Start with the label, not the headline.

1. Identify every active ingredient

Write down the ingredient and amount per serving. If individual amounts are hidden inside a proprietary blend, that limits how confidently you can compare the product with research.

2. Separate ingredient evidence from formula evidence

A study involving one ingredient does not prove a multi-ingredient finished product works.

3. Read warnings and serving directions

Pay attention to stimulant content, allergens, contraindications, and interactions. People who are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or managing a medical condition should discuss supplement use with a qualified clinician.

4. Treat dramatic testimonials cautiously

A testimonial is not a controlled clinical trial and may not represent typical results.
